Procedures for Student Recitals

Our Branch is pleased to offer recital opportunities to all our branch members’ students.
It is our desire to accommodate as many teachers and their students as time permits; unfortunately, our recitals have time limits. In some cases, these time constraints might require us to select students from those submitted by their teachers. A sorting process will be applied based on the date that the recital application is received. It may be the case that only one of a teacher's students will be able to play on the recital and only one of the student's pieces will be selected. We ask that each teacher list his students in order of priority and prioritize their pieces. We will make certain that every teacher who has submitted an application has at least one student selected before choosing another teacher’s second student. The cutoff date for accepting applications is three (3) weeks before the date of the recital. Please do not sign up a student who does not know his piece in its entirety or does not have it memorized.

TEACHER PERFORMERS FOR BRANCH RECITALS
This is new this year!
Many of our students do not get the opportunity to go to concerts to hear professional musicians. We are asking those members who are interested in sharing their artistry to perform at the end of these branch recitals. They can do this as a solo performer or as a member of an ensemble. The material should be relatively short—pieces of approximately 4 minutes in length.
For more information, contact Denise Chevalier at the address above.
